Open roles, what the work is really like, and how to apply to a shop that repairs vehicles nobody else will take.
Short answer. OCRV Center hires body, structural, composite, refinish, systems and estimating talent for the 35,000 square foot Yorba Linda shop. Work is in shop, full time, weekdays with Saturday coverage, and the vehicles range from teardrops to forty five foot coaches and commercial fleets.
OCRV Center works in shop at 23281 La Palma Ave in Yorba Linda, about 22 miles and 30 to 45 minutes from West Covina.

What working here is actually like
The vehicles are large, the problems are unusual, and no two jobs are identical. A technician here might spend Monday bonding a delaminated sidewall on a fifth wheel, Tuesday setting a Schwintek rail back into sync, and Wednesday reinforcing a torn lift gate mount on a box truck.
That variety is the appeal for some people and the deal breaker for others. If you want the same repair operation twenty times a week, a production collision center pays well and is a better fit. If you like problems where the answer is not in a book, this is the floor for you.
Everything happens in shop at 23281 La Palma Ave in Yorba Linda. We do not run mobile technicians, roadside crews or fleet route service, so nobody is driving a service van around Southern California.
Roles we hire for
We staff by department rather than by generalist, and we hire into departments accordingly.
- Structural and frame technician: measurement, straightening, sectioning, MIG and TIG welding, fabrication on trailer frames, motorhome chassis and commercial rails
- Composite technician: laminated sidewall repair, delamination, gelcoat and filon work, core replacement, vacuum bonding, cap repair and replacement
- Body technician: panel repair, aluminum skin, dent and crease work, cap and door fitment, hardware installation
- Refinish technician and painter: preparation, sealer, base, clear, tri stage and pearl, color matching by let down card, blend planning, decal and graphics work
- Roof and sealing technician: EPDM, TPO and fiberglass membranes, lap sealant and butyl bedding, vent, skylight and AC gasket work, moisture mapping and water testing
- Slide and awning technician: Schwintek, Lippert In Wall, Power Gear, BAL Accu Slide and hydraulic systems, seal replacement, slide room rebuild, Carefree, Dometic and Solera awnings
- Interior and cabinet builder: subfloor, flooring, cabinetry, refacing, countertops, wall panels, upholstery
- Systems technician: 12 volt and 120 volt diagnostics, inverters, converters, lithium and AGM banks, solar and MPPT, transfer switches, generators, LP, furnaces, water heaters and refrigeration
- Commercial installer: lift gates, service and utility bodies, toolboxes, crane bodies, headache racks, shelving, bulkheads, cargo flooring and emergency lighting
- Estimator and file manager: written estimates, photo documentation, parts research, supplement writing and carrier communication
- Detail technician: paint correction, oxidation removal, ceramic coating, interior detail
What we look for
Diagnostic instinct over parts swapping. The best technicians here are the ones who ask why a component failed rather than just replacing it, because on these vehicles the failed part is very often a symptom of something structural.
Documentation discipline. Every repair here gets photographed and written up. If recording what you found feels like a distraction from the real work, this floor will frustrate you, because the documentation is what gets a supplement approved and gets you paid.
Willingness to say a job is bigger than the estimate. We would rather a technician stop and flag additional damage than quietly work around it. Nobody here is penalized for finding more work.
Automotive collision experience transfers well to the structural and refinish side. Marine, aviation composite and boat building experience transfers exceptionally well to the composite bench. Residential and cabinet carpentry transfers well to the interior shop. Prior RV experience is useful but it is not a requirement, and we would rather train a careful technician than inherit bad habits.
Schedule, conditions and how we operate
Shop hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Saturday coverage rotates by department rather than falling on the same people every week.
The building is 35,000 square feet, fully enclosed, with downdraft refinish booths, a fabrication area, a composite bench, a cabinet shop and a systems bench. Figures reflect OCRV Center shop volume at the Yorba Linda facility. Work happens indoors, which in an inland Southern California summer is not a small consideration.
We are registered with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair as ARD00288521 and with the EPA as CAL000367879, and we operate to those standards on waste handling, refinish capture and estimate practice. Technicians here are not asked to cut corners on any of that.

Walk ins are fine during weekday hours, but call first so someone from the relevant department can actually talk to you rather than waving from across a lifted coach.
Questions we get asked
Do I need RV specific experience to get hired
No. Collision, marine, aviation composite, boat building, cabinet carpentry and commercial truck body experience all transfer well. What matters more is diagnostic thinking and care. Laminated body construction, slide mechanisms and RV systems are all learnable on the floor by someone with good hands and good habits. We would rather train a careful technician than retrain a fast one with bad habits.
Is any of the work performed off site
No. Everything happens at the Yorba Linda facility. We do not run mobile technicians, roadside response or fleet route service, so no one on the floor is dispatched to a customer location. That also means the tools, booths, measurement equipment and lifts you need are always the ones in the building rather than whatever fits in a van.
What departments hire most often
Composite and refinish are the two hardest to staff, because laminated body work and large substrate color matching are genuinely rare skill sets. Systems technicians who can diagnose 12 volt and 120 volt faults with a meter rather than by swapping parts are also consistently in demand. Structural, interior and commercial installation roles open less frequently but do open.
What are the hours and is weekend work required
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, plus Saturday 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM coverage that rotates between departments rather than landing on the same people every week. Sunday the shop is closed. Overtime happens during busy seasons, particularly spring when owners are preparing for summer travel and fall when Santa Ana wind damage comes in.
