## Delamination on a thin laminate sidewall

Delamination is the skin releasing from the substrate behind it. On a thin laminate sidewall there is simply less material holding that bond, so a void spreads faster and shows itself sooner. The classic presentation is a soft area you find with your palm, followed by a visible bubble once an afternoon of sun heats the panel and the trapped air expands.

If the substrate has failed, the skin comes off, the material is replaced, and the skin is rebonded. ## Frame flex, pin box loading and the underside

The chassis under an ultra lite fifth wheel is built to the same design language as a heavier one, with formed rails, crossmembers and outriggers, but in lighter sections. It does its job. It also has less margin, which shows up in two places: at the pin box attachment and at the outriggers under a slide.

At the pin box, the concern is the mounting plate and the leading crossmember.
