# Insurance Carriers We Work With

OCRV Center bills carriers direct on RV, van, trailer, truck and fleet claims, including Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, Mercury, Allstate and Liberty Mutual among others. You choose your repair shop in California. We handle the estimate, the supplements and the billing with your adjuster from our Yorba Linda facility.

## What direct billing means on your claim

Direct billing means the approved portion of the repair goes from us to your insurer. You are not paying the full repair cost and waiting for reimbursement, and you are not acting as a middleman between two parties who both speak the same technical language. What you settle at pickup is the deductible plus anything you elected to have done outside the claim.

The practical difference shows up in the middle of a repair, not at the start. When teardown reveals hidden damage, we submit the supplement to your adjuster with photos and measurements attached and work the approval directly. Nobody asks you to relay a question about refinish blend time or a manufacturer recalibration procedure between an adjuster and an estimator.

We have written estimates, submitted supplements and billed repairs across a long list of carriers on RV, van, trailer, truck and fleet claims out of the Yorba Linda shop. That experience is why the process runs the way it does. Every carrier has its own supplement format, its own reinspection practice and its own preference for how documentation arrives, and knowing those preferences in advance removes an entire round of back and forth.

## Carriers we handle claims with

We regularly work claims with Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, AAA SoCal, AAA Enterprises, Mercury, Allstate, American Family, Wawanesa, National General, CSAA, Foremost, Liberty Mutual, Tesla, Cincinnati and AGWS. Carrier names are listed to show claim experience. OCRV Center is an independent shop and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting as an agent of any insurer.

If your carrier is not on that list, it changes nothing about how we handle the file. There is no special access required to write an estimate and submit it to an insurer. What matters is that the estimate is written on the vehicle, documented properly and submitted in a form the reviewer can act on. We do that the same way regardless of whose logo is on the claim number.

Some carriers specialize in recreational vehicles and their adjusters know what a slide mechanism is and why a laminated wall does not behave like sheet metal. Others handle RVs occasionally, and those files need more documentation because the reviewer has fewer reference points. Neither is a problem. It just changes how much explanation travels with each supplement.

## You choose the shop, not the carrier

California law says the vehicle owner chooses the repair shop, and an insurer may recommend a shop but may not require you to use a specific one. Network referrals get presented in language that can sound mandatory, especially in a fast phone call about a vehicle you cannot drive. It is worth knowing the difference before that call happens.

There is nothing wrong with a carrier network. Network shops are generally good at what they do, and for a passenger car the program works well. The gap appears with vehicle class. A network built around sedans and light trucks does not necessarily contain a facility with a bay tall enough for a Class A, a booth long enough to shoot a forty foot coach, or anyone who has set a slide room back on its tracks.

If you select us, say so plainly to the adjuster and ask that it be noted on the file. Then give us the claim number and the adjuster contact and we take it from there. Call (949) 799-3387 and we will introduce ourselves to your adjuster the same day. Whether a particular shop is right for your vehicle is your decision to make, and it should be made on capability rather than on convenience.

## How different claim types route

A first party claim runs against your own policy. You pay your deductible, we bill your carrier direct, and if another party was at fault your carrier may pursue recovery afterward. This is the most common route and the fastest, because your carrier has a contractual obligation to you and a defined timeline for responding.

A third party claim runs against the at fault party's carrier. A deductible generally does not apply, but the other carrier has no contract with you, liability has to be established first, and the timeline is usually longer. Owners sometimes choose the third party route to avoid a deductible and end up waiting weeks longer for a decision. Which route makes sense on your file is worth discussing with your own adjuster.

Fleet and commercial files route differently again. A business with a commercial policy may have a fleet contact, a risk manager or a broker in the loop, and approvals can require a purchase order rather than an adjuster signature. Self insured public agencies run entirely through procurement. We set the paperwork path up before the vehicle arrives so the administrative side is not the reason a unit sits.

- First party: your policy, your deductible, fastest route in most cases
- Third party: the at fault carrier, no deductible typically, longer decision timeline
- Commercial: adjuster plus a fleet manager, risk manager or broker in the approval chain
- Self insured public agency: purchase order and procurement rather than a claim number

## What we handle for fleet and commercial vehicles

For commercial vans, box trucks, buses, work trucks and municipal units we handle body, paint, structural work and equipment installation in shop at Yorba Linda. That covers collision damage, panel and skin work, refinishing, structural straightening and measurement, and the mounting and reinstallation of body equipment such as shelving, racks, liftgates and service bodies.

We do not perform engine, drivetrain or DOT inspection work on those vehicles, and we will tell you that up front rather than after the unit is on the property. If a claim involves mechanical systems as well as body damage, that portion goes to a mechanical facility and we coordinate the body side around it so the two are not fighting for the same days.

All work is performed in shop. We do not run mobile, roadside or fleet route service, which means a fleet unit has to come to Yorba Linda. For a West Covina based fleet that is about 22 miles down the 57 and the 91, and the practical planning question is how many units can be out of service at once. Call fleet intake at (949) 799-3387 and we schedule around that constraint rather than against it.

## Working with an adjuster who has never seen your vehicle type

It happens regularly and it is not a crisis. An adjuster whose entire career has been passenger vehicles opens a file on a fifth wheel with a racked slide and a delaminated sidewall, and none of the reference points transfer. The estimating platform does not carry the vehicle in depth. The labor rate categories do not include a large vehicle rate. The parts categories assume automotive sourcing.

The answer is documentation that teaches without being condescending. Photographs that show the construction, moisture readings with the meter in frame, measurements with reference points marked, manufacturer procedures where they exist, and part sourcing with lead times attached. A reviewer with no RV background will approve a well evidenced line and question a bare description, and that is a reasonable way for them to work.

This is most of what separates a smooth RV claim from a difficult one. Not who the carrier is, not who the adjuster is, but whether the evidence arrived in a form somebody could act on. We write files that way as a matter of routine, because the alternative is weeks of round trips over questions that a photograph would have answered.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do you have to be in my carrier's network to fix my motorhome

No. California law says the vehicle owner chooses the repair shop, and an insurer may recommend a shop but may not require a specific one. We write estimates, submit supplements and bill direct across a wide range of carriers without needing network membership. What matters to a reviewer is whether the estimate is written on the vehicle and documented well enough to act on, not which program the shop belongs to.

### My adjuster says the estimate is too high, what happens next

We find out which specific lines are in question and answer them with evidence rather than argument. That usually means photographs, measurements, moisture readings, a manufacturer procedure or part sourcing with pricing attached. Most disagreements close at that point because the reviewer was missing information rather than disputing the work. Where a genuine gap remains, most policies contain an appraisal provision written for disputes about the amount of loss, and your carrier can explain how yours works.

### Can you work with the other driver's insurance instead of mine

Yes, we handle third party claims. The tradeoff is timing. The other carrier has no contract with you, so liability has to be established before anything gets approved, and that adds time. Going through your own policy usually moves faster and your carrier may pursue reimbursement afterward, potentially including your deductible. Talk it through with your own adjuster before deciding, because the right answer depends on how clear liability is.

### How do you handle a claim for a city or district owned vehicle

Through procurement rather than through a claim number. Self insured public agencies typically approve repairs with a purchase order raised against a budget line, sometimes with quote thresholds and insurance certificates required on file. We set that paperwork path up with your fleet or risk contact before the vehicle arrives and format invoices to match the purchase order, so the unit is not sitting while documents find the right desk.

### Will you talk to my broker or fleet manager instead of me

Yes, and on commercial files that is usually the better arrangement. Tell us who owns the decision on scope and cost and we work with that person directly, keeping you copied on anything that affects timeline or downtime. For a fleet with multiple units in rotation, the scheduling conversation matters as much as the repair conversation, and it is easier to have it with whoever manages the rotation.

### What if my claim was already denied by my insurance company

Bring us the denial letter and the estimate the carrier worked from. Denials sometimes rest on a scope description that does not match what is actually on the vehicle, and a documented inspection can change that conversation. Whether a denial can be challenged and how is a matter between you and your carrier, and for coverage questions an agent or an attorney is the right resource. What we can supply is a written, evidenced account of the vehicle's actual condition.
