# Haulmark Repair in West Covina

Haulmark builds enclosed cargo, car hauler and race trailers that spend their lives working. OCRV Center repairs Haulmark trailers for West Covina owners and businesses at the Yorba Linda facility, covering skin replacement, frame work, ramp door systems and refinishing.

## Known weak points

- Skin panel seam separation and fastener loosening from years of road vibration
- Rear ramp door hinge elongation and spring assist wear
- Roof seam sealant failure at the front and rear caps
- Frame and tongue stress on trailers routinely loaded near or past their ratings
- Side door frame racking on unevenly loaded trailers
- Wall to floor joint separation from concentrated point loads
- Interior tie down and cabinet attachment loosening on race trailers

## Race and car hauler trailers see loads nothing else does

A race support trailer is loaded, unloaded and driven hard on a schedule that no recreational trailer approaches. Everything in it wears faster because everything gets used more.

Ramp doors, tie down points, interior cabinetry and the wall to floor joint are the areas that report it first. All four take direct loads and all four wear predictably.

Owners in this world generally know their trailers well. The useful conversation is about what can be corrected during an off week versus what needs doing before the next event, and we will scope it that way.

## Skin, fasteners and vibration

Enclosed trailers carry aluminum skin over a frame, fastened along seams. Miles of vibration work those fasteners loose, and a loosened seam line is both a water path and the start of a panel that will eventually oil can.

It is usually discovered as water on cargo rather than as a visible gap in the trailer, which means the seam has been open for a while.

Skin replacement is economical when the frame underneath is sound. Checking the frame first is what determines whether new skin is a repair or a cover over a real problem.

## Loading habits show up in the structure

The tongue and the wall to floor joint tell you how a trailer has actually been used, regardless of what its rating says.

Tongue stress shows as a trailer that has started towing differently. Wall to floor separation shows as a gap that opens at one corner under load and closes when the trailer is empty.

Both are inexpensive to correct early and both become significant structural work if they are left. Worth mentioning at intake even when they are not why you brought it in.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you work around a race schedule

That is usually the right way to scope it. The useful conversation is what can be corrected during an off week versus what needs doing before the next event. Tell us the calendar at intake and we will separate the two rather than presenting one all or nothing timeline.

### Water is getting on my cargo but I see no gap

Loosened fasteners along a skin seam. Road vibration works them over years, creating a path invisible from outside that wets cargo inside. The seam has usually been open a while. Skin replacement is economical when the frame beneath is sound, which is why we check the frame first.

### My trailer tows differently than it used to

Check the tongue and coupler before anything else. That is where towing loads enter the trailer and it is where stress shows first. It is inexpensive to correct at this stage and becomes significant structural work if left, so it is worth raising even if it is not why you brought the trailer in.
